Three men have been sentenced to immediate prison terms after being caught carrying knives inside the Centre:MK shopping centre in Milton Keynes. The individuals appeared at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court, where they all pleaded guilty to possession of a knife in a public place.

The incident took place on 26 March 2026 shortly after 2:15pm. Police were alerted after a group was spotted in the shopping centre with weapons. Specialist officers from the Thames Valley Police arrived at the scene within minutes and successfully recovered three knives.

The court handed down the following sentences: 21-year-old Regan Shand of Croydon was given nine months, 21-year-old Samuel Martin of Peterborough received seven months, and 22-year-old Joshua Martin of Luton was sentenced to six months in prison. A fourth man, 21-year-old Nyles Whyte of Dunstable, was also arrested and charged with possession of cannabis; he is due to return to the same court on 23 April 2026.

Police Sergeant Tom Hughes of the Milton Keynes City Centre Team credited the quick outcome to the vigilance of the staff at the shopping centre. He noted that these sentences serve as a clear message that there is a zero-tolerance approach to weapon-related crime in the area. This case remains a point of focus for the community, as Milton Keynes has historically seen the highest levels of knife-enabled crime within the Thames Valley police area.
