The West Northamptonshire Community Safety Partnership will host an awareness event at the Northampton parkrun on Saturday 9 May 2026 to provide residents with information on how to report crime anonymously.
The council’s Community Safety Team will be stationed at the Racecourse on Kettering Road alongside the Northamptonshire Police Neighbourhood Beat Bus. The event, which coincides with the weekly Northampton parkrun that begins at 9am, is part of an ongoing effort to improve public access to safety resources.
Representatives will be available to answer questions and explain how community members can use Crimestoppers to report information without sharing personal details. This includes the Fearless service, which is specifically designed for people under the age of 25. Reports can be made by calling 0800 555 111 or by using the online form provided by the charity.
This initiative follows a range of safety projects coordinated by the partnership, which includes representatives from the council, police, fire service, NHS, and local voluntary organisations. Previous efforts have resulted in £1.7 million of investment for the Racecourse, covering upgrades such as improved street lighting, CCTV, and new Help Points.
