Drivers in Courteenhall, Northamptonshire, are reporting vehicle damage after hitting deep potholes on local roads on February 13, 2026. These reports were filed through the West Northamptonshire Council reporting portal after motorists encountered hazards near the NN4 5DF postcode area.

Several warnings were logged on the FixMyStreet platform throughout the morning. One resident reported that the road surface was already causing physical damage to cars, while another notice highlighted potholes stretching along the entire length of Washbrook Lane.

The West Northamptonshire Council has a policy to fix or make safe any road hazards that are considered an imminent danger within 24 hours. However, the authority has warned that because of the high number of maintenance requests being received, it might take longer than usual to respond to new reports.

The surge in local reports follows a red rating from the Department for Transport regarding the council’s road management. To be considered a safety defect for urgent repair, a pothole typically needs to be at least 40mm deep on a busy road.
