Businesses from across Northamptonshire have been celebrated as winners of the first-ever countywide tourism awards following a ceremony at the Silverstone Museum on 27 February 2026. The winners across 11 different categories were officially announced on 02 March 2026 to highlight the best attractions and hotels in the area. Local leaders hope the awards will help attract more visitors to the region and support the thousands of people working in the local hospitality trade.
The West Northamptonshire Council and North Northamptonshire Council worked together to host the event, which was organised by Discover Northamptonshire. Major winners included the Delapré Abbey Preservation Trust, which took home the prize for the best large visitor attraction. Boughton House and Estate was named the best small visitor attraction, while the unsung hero award was given to Nick Wilson for his work as a disabled adventurer.
The awards were funded by £10,000 from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to help promote local heritage and culture. According to North Northamptonshire Council, the tourism industry in the area already brings in nearly £1 billion every year and supports around 30,000 jobs. By winning these local awards, the businesses are now automatically entered into a national competition to find the best tourism spots in the country.
