Motorcyclists will gather in Northampton this Saturday 18 April 2026 for the annual Terry Wire Run, a fundraising event for the Cynthia Spencer Hospice. The convoy of Harley-Davidson and Buell motorcycles is set to depart from Sixfields Stadium at 9:30am, travelling through the town centre before arriving at Market Square around 11am.

The ride, which typically features around 200 participants, continues a tradition started in 2003 by the late Terry Wire. A former Mayor of Northampton and firefighter, Mr Wire established the event to support the hospice, raising nearly £30,000 over a decade before he passed away there in 2014. The rally is now organised by Radu and Oana Golici, who run the local independent specialist garage Northants V Twin.

Members of the public are invited to attend the event in Market Square, where representatives from the hospice will host stalls and family activities until 1pm. The fundraising effort holds particular importance this year as the charity marks its 50th anniversary. To maintain its services across West Northamptonshire, the hospice has set an ambitious fundraising goal in 2026.

Sarah Sturman, community and events fundraiser at the hospice, expressed her support for the return of the event. The rally is being promoted through the Northampton Town Centre Business Improvement District, which encourages residents to show their support for the riders and the charity mission.
