Northamptonshire Police have released CCTV images following an attempted break-in at a home on Church Way in Weston Favell, Northampton. The incident is reported to have occurred at about 12:50pm on 1 January 2026, and the force published the images and appeal on 10 February 2026.

The case is being handled under Operation Crooked, the force’s specialist initiative dedicated to reducing residential burglaries. Northamptonshire Police said: “Officers believe the man in the image may have information which could assist them and are appealing for him or anyone who may recognise him to get in touch.” Officers are asking the man shown, or anyone who knows him, to contact them.

Local people are being asked to check smart doorbells, private security cameras and car dashcams for any footage that could help the investigation. The Weston Favell Village Residents’ Association (WFVRA) often works with the police on community safety measures in the area.

Operation Crooked was launched in April 2019; the force says residential burglaries in the county have fallen by nearly half since the initiative began. Northamptonshire Police maintain a policy of attending every home burglary, though attempted burglaries are often prioritised for forensic and digital evidence gathering as part of efforts to catch suspects and prevent future crimes.
