Residents in Northampton can look forward to a warming trend throughout the coming week, as temperatures are expected to climb from 13°C on Thursday to 20°C by next Wednesday. According to the Met Office, this rise in temperature follows a build-up of high pressure that is set to bring more sunshine and drier weather to the region.

While the week starts with cooler conditions, including an overcast Thursday with a 40 per cent chance of rain in the afternoon, the weather is set to improve as the week progresses. For those planning outdoor activities, the Met Office long-range forecast notes that both pollen and air pollution levels remain low, creating favourable conditions for spending time outside.

Sun safety remains important as temperatures rise. The Met Office warns that UV levels will be high on Thursday and Friday, and advises residents to seek shade during midday hours, cover up, and wear sunscreen. From Saturday onwards, UV levels are expected to drop to a moderate level, though using sun protection is still recommended.

The week will also feature extending daylight hours, with sunrise moving to 05:02 and sunset to 20:59 by Wednesday. Residents should be aware that wind gusts are expected to increase mid-week, reaching 30mph on Monday and Tuesday before moderating slightly as the week concludes.
