Local makers and families in Norwich, Norfolk, can plan for the spring after organisers confirmed the city’s Spring 2026 dates for a series of craft and makers’ markets. The events are being promoted as opportunities to support local businesses and to take part in new family-friendly activities.

The markets will return to The Halls (St Andrew’s Hall and Blackfriars’ Hall) following a multi‑year refurbishment. Reports in local and national media say the repair bill for the Grade I listed complex is almost £7.8m (often reported as nearly £8m), and the works forced the venue to pause large-scale indoor events since early 2023.

Organisers have announced key weekends for the Spring 2026 circuit, including a spring launch weekend on April 4–5, 2026, and a Spring Bank Holiday market in late May (May 23–24, 2026). The fairs are planned across both St Andrew’s Hall and The Forum, offering increased indoor space for visitors to browse handmade goods such as pottery and woodwork.

Planners say the 2026 programme adds dedicated zones for children and family-friendly maker‑spaces. The change follows 2025 public consultation feedback (the city’s ‘Get Talking Norwich’ exercise) that indicated strong interest in markets becoming community destinations with interactive activities, not just transactional shopping.

Local artists and makers are invited to apply to trade. Applications are being processed through the market organisers’ channels (Local Makers Market and their booking portal); organisers say applications are open now. Prospective stallholders should check the Local Makers Market website and the event booking portal for the latest application guidance and any closing dates.
