Residents in Norwich should prepare for changes to their bin collection days over the upcoming Easter weekend. According to Norwich City Council, all waste and recycling collections will take place one day later than usual, starting from Good Friday on 3 April 2026.

The adjustment applies to all household waste services, including general rubbish, mixed recycling, food waste, and garden waste. Because of the bank holiday, the collection schedule will shift forward by one day for the remainder of that week and the following week. Normal collection patterns are set to resume from Monday 13 April 2026.

For example, if a collection is typically due on Friday 3 April, it will instead occur on Saturday 4 April. Similarly, collections due on Easter Monday, 6 April, will be moved to Tuesday 7 April. Residents are encouraged to view the full list of changes on the Easter holiday bin collections page provided by the local authority.

Regardless of the holiday shift, the council reminds households that all bins must be placed out for collection by 6am on the day of service. To avoid obstruction, bins should not be put out before 6pm on the evening prior to the scheduled collection. These requirements are part of the standard waste collection service standards to ensure efficiency across the city.
