The Local Makers Market returns to The Forum in Norwich this Saturday with more than 80 stalls of handmade goods from independent designers. The free event at the Millennium Plain venue runs from 10am to 4pm on 11 July, organisers Local Makers Market Ltd confirmed.
Visitors can browse screen prints, ceramics, jewellery, homewares and textiles spread across both indoor and outdoor spaces. All food and drink on offer is fully vegetarian and vegan, including wood fired pizza, homemade cakes and artisan coffee. A spokesperson for the company said: “We want to encourage as many people as possible to visit our markets so we never charge an entrance fee.”
The Norwich market is part of a network that Local Makers Market Ltd has been running since 2013, with regular events across East London, Cambridge and Norfolk. The company also holds markets at The Shoe Factory Social Club on St Mary’s Works in the city. Upcoming dates at The Forum are already locked in for 10 October and 19 December, both running from 10am to 4pm.
Applications for traders open each year between November and early January, though ad hoc slots are occasionally filled for cancellations. The Forum itself continues to operate normally alongside the ongoing Millennium Library refurbishment, with its car park, PizzaExpress and cafe remaining open. More details are available on The Forum’s event page.
