Residents in Norwich can look forward to a week of mild and mostly sunny weather, though hay fever sufferers are being advised to take precautions as pollen levels are set to climb.

According to the Met Office, the city is expecting temperatures significantly above the usual April average of 11°C. The weekend will start with sunny intervals and highs of 17°C on Saturday, 4 April. Conditions will become cooler on Sunday, 5 April, with a high of 12°C and a 30% chance of scattered showers in the afternoon.

The working week will be settled and predominantly sunny. Temperatures are forecast to rise from 13°C on Monday, 6 April, to 18°C by Wednesday, 8 April. While the weather is ideal for outdoor activities, the Met Office warns that pollen levels for birch and ash will be high over the weekend and will escalate to very high from Monday through Wednesday.

Those with allergies are encouraged to manage their symptoms, as Allergy UK notes that high pollen counts can impact sleep and respiratory health. Throughout the week, moderate ultraviolet levels are expected, and residents are advised to use sunscreen during the middle of the day to protect their skin.
