Oxfordshire County Council has introduced two new free community activities at Headington Library in Oxford, both of which will begin on 14 May 2026.
The library, located in Bury Knowle Park, is launching an Italian Language Cafe and a Thursday Library Club to expand its weekly programming for local adults. Neither event requires booking, and there is no cost to attend.
The Italian Language Cafe is designed for intermediate speakers, offering a space to practice conversation skills with other learners every Thursday from 12pm to 1pm. Participants are recommended to have at least a B1 level of fluency to get the most out of the sessions.
Later the same day, the library will host the Thursday Library Club from 5pm to 6pm. This group provides a space for adults to socialise while enjoying hot drinks and participating in activities such as games, books, and crafts.
Headington Library has served the community since 1932, when it opened as the city’s first branch library. It remains a key part of the county-wide network of 44 libraries managed by the local authority.
