The Oxfordshire Artweeks festival will bring more than 1,000 artists to around 400 venues across Oxford, Oxfordshire, from 2 May to 25 May 2026. This annual event allows residents to see local creativity for free in spaces such as professional studios, private gardens, and historic churches.

The festival is split into three regional parts so people can visit different areas at different times. South Oxfordshire venues are open from 2 May to 10 May, followed by North and West Oxfordshire from 9 May to 17 May, and finishing in Oxford City from 16 May to 25 May 2026.

Visitors can expect to see a wide variety of work, including painting, photography, textiles, and pottery. According to Experience Oxfordshire, the event attracts over 100,000 people each year and sees about £1 million of artwork sold during the three-week period.

Founded in 1981, the event is now the oldest and largest festival of its kind in the country. It is run as a not-for-profit company owned by its members and is managed by a team of local volunteers and area coordinators.

All exhibitions are free to enter and generally open to the public between 11am and 6pm daily. This year marks the 45th year of the celebration, which continues to showcase diverse crafts ranging from jewellery making to woodworking.
