On Saturday, 7 March 2026, the Oxford University Museum of Natural History (OUMNH) in Oxford, Oxfordshire, will host a free, drop-in family science fair called Super Science Saturday. The event allows children and parents to meet university researchers and take part in hands-on experiments without advance booking.

The community fair will serve as the local kick-off for British Science Week (6–15 March 2026), a national ten-day celebration of science and technology. Visitors will find over 15 interactive stations spread through the museum where researchers translate their work into simple activities and games.

Recommended for ages 8+, the fair gives children the chance to handle specimens and try scientific tools. University researchers from a range of departments will be on hand between 12:00 and 16:00 to answer questions and demonstrate how their studies help us understand the world.

Families can drop in at any time during the event hours at the museum on Parks Road (OX1 3PW). In addition to the fair activities, guests can explore the museum’s permanent collections; note the OUMNH is completing the final phase of its “Life, As We Know It” redisplay in early 2026, so some areas of the main court may be closed or partially inaccessible during installation.
