Oxford Playhouse is inviting local actors to audition for its upcoming production of Snow White, a key event in the city’s cultural calendar. The theatre is looking for performers aged 18 and over who live within a 25-mile radius of the venue to join the cast for the 2026-27 season.

Interested performers must submit their applications by 5pm on Monday 18 May 2026. Following the application process, auditions will take place at the Beaumont Street theatre on Wednesday 10 June and Tuesday 16 June 2026. The production will offer professional pay rates in line with Equity standards. Rehearsals are set to begin on 26 October 2026, with performances continuing from 20 November 2026 through to 3 January 2027.

As a registered charity, the theatre is known for its commitment to inclusive and diverse casting, aiming to ensure the stage reflects the local community. This annual tradition is a significant local draw, regularly welcoming more than 36,000 audience members each year, including roughly 10,000 schoolchildren. The quality of the theatre’s pantomime productions has received national recognition, with the venue recently winning the Achievement in Innovation Award at the 2025 Pantomime Awards for its staging of Sleeping Beauty.

In addition to the adult professional cast, young people aged 11 to 15 from across Oxfordshire have an opportunity to participate. The theatre is hosting auditions for the Panto Young Company on Saturday 30 May 2026, allowing local youth to perform alongside the professional company. The pantomime, which is funded by organisations including Arts Council England, the University of Oxford, St John’s College Oxford, and Oxford City Council, continues to be a central part of the regional theatre scene under the direction of writer and director Toby Hulse.
