Oxford United is inviting supporters to apply for three vacant positions on its Fan Advisory Board, offering fans a formal opportunity to influence the future direction of the club. The recruitment drive follows the club’s recent relegation to League One on 25 April 2026, and seeks to fill two three-year terms and one two-year term on the board.

The board was established in May 2025 as the successor to the Oxford United Supporters Panel. Its creation was the result of collaboration between the club, the Football Supporters’ Association, and OxVox, the independent supporters’ trust. Paul Peros, the chair of OxVox, previously noted that the board is a vital mechanism for ensuring supporters have direct input into the club’s strategic planning and governance.

Members of the board meet quarterly with senior staff, including Chairman Grant Ferguson and CEO Tim Williams. These discussions cover a range of topics, such as long-term strategic vision, stadium issues, and the preservation of heritage assets. During a meeting in January 2026, members discussed how the current stadium situation limits the club’s ability to generate revenue compared to teams that have full control over their own facilities year-round. The board also demonstrated its influence in November 2025 by unanimously approving the removal of pinstripes from the club crest.

Following the confirmation of the club’s relegation to League One, Chairman Grant Ferguson stated that the club remains committed to building a team capable of challenging for promotion next season. Supporters interested in joining the board must submit their applications by midnight on 17 May 2026. Following an interview process on 9 June, elections for the successful candidates will be held between 22 June and 30 June.

More information on the application process can be found on the official club website.
