Residents of Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, can attend a free big‑screen movie night on Friday 13 February 2026. The event, organised by Peterborough Positive (the city centre Business Improvement District), is listed on the BID’s events page as a ‘Valentine’s Movie Night’ at St John the Baptist Church in Cathedral Square.

Peterborough Positive is running the screening in partnership with St John’s CIC and the Gateway Film Festival to drive footfall into Cathedral Square during a typically quieter winter period and to support nearby restaurants and bars.

To make attendance easier, the Queensgate car park is participating in a ‘Free After 5pm’ offer on the night of the event, aimed at reducing the cost barrier for visitors coming into the city centre.

Venue partners say the Grade I‑listed St John the Baptist Church is being used as a community arts venue for the screening. Peterborough Positive’s event materials and the St John’s CIC event page note that refreshments/café facilities will be available and that doors typically open 30–60 minutes before a screening.

The BID says these ‘big screen’ evenings are funded through the Peterborough Positive levy paid by city‑centre businesses. Peterborough Positive has previously run similar free film events at St John’s around Easter and at Christmas to help bring the community into the city centre.
