Residents in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, are being asked for their views on how to improve roads, walking and public transport in the city centre. Peterborough City Council and the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority launched a six-week consultation on 2 February 2026 to help shape a long-term vision for the city centre over the next 15 to 20 years.
Local people can share their thoughts through an online survey or by attending public events in person. A pop-up event will take place at Queensgate Shopping Centre on 14 February 2026 — outside Frasers on the ground floor from 12:00 to 14:00 — where council staff will be on hand to talk to shoppers and gather feedback.
The feedback will help the council and partners decide how to better connect the city centre with the Station Quarter regeneration, which has secured around £48 million in Levelling Up funding and includes planned improvements to the station and its surroundings. Planners are also looking at ways to reduce the severance caused by the busy inner‑ring road and make it safer and easier for people to walk or cycle between different parts of the city.
This long-term vision is intended to help the city manage its growing population and ensure that transport links support new businesses and homes. The consultation runs until 12 March 2026, and residents can find more details and the survey on the council’s Engagement Hub.
