Peterborough United Women’s Academy launched a new Female Leaders Network on February 17, 2026, to support women in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. This project aims to help local women and volunteers develop their skills in coaching, medical work, and other specialist roles in the sport.
The programme includes a mentoring scheme where participants get two or three visits from an academy coach at their own local club before the end of the season. It is open to women working in several areas, including psychologists, medical staff, and fitness specialists.
The Women’s Academy secured new funding to pay for the project and to hire more female staff. This effort is designed to help current players move into leadership or coaching roles once their playing careers are over.
The launch happens as Peterborough United Women currently lead the league after a recent derby win. By offering these new training opportunities, the club hopes to create more visible role models for young women in the community.
