Peterborough College in Cambridgeshire will host a week of activities from March 2 to March 6, 2026, to help students find local jobs and training opportunities. The event, held as part of National Careers Week, aims to bridge the gap between education and work by bringing employers directly to the campus to meet with students face-to-face.

Under the theme ‘Own Your Future’, as highlighted by All About STEM, students will attend workshops on how to write a CV and how to build a professional brand on social media. The programme includes a competition where students can win a £50 Amazon voucher for sharing their learning insights on LinkedIn after attending career talks.

Large organisations like Amazon, the RAF, and the Police will be on site to discuss apprenticeships and career paths in engineering, construction, and public service. Online sessions will also feature guest speakers such as author Kate Mosse and experts from the film and television industry to give students a look at different types of work.

This year’s event highlights high-growth areas like sustainable energy following the launch of the £13.5 million Centre for Green Technology at the college. Rachel Nicholls, CEO of the Inspire Education Group, recently worked with local MP Andrew Pakes to promote these new training routes and help local businesses find skilled workers in the city.
