Passengers travelling between Peterborough and Cambridge will see a new timetable for the Blue Arrow X1 express coach service starting Monday, 30 March 2026. The revised schedule, managed by Whippet, introduces additional departures and faster journey times to improve the service for commuters and visitors.

The express coach link, which travels between Peterborough and Cambridge city centres in approximately 80 minutes with a stop in Huntingdon, has updated its weekday and weekend departures. The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority encourages all passengers to review the updated times before travelling to ensure they are aware of the changes.

For weekday travel, buses will depart from Peterborough Westgate at 0645, 1000, 1300, and 1600, with an additional service to Huntingdon at 1850. Return services from Cambridge are set for 0825, 1130, 1430, and 1730. Saturday departures from Peterborough Westgate are scheduled for 0715, 1000, 1300, and 1555, with an 1830 service to Huntingdon. Return trips from Cambridge on Saturdays will depart at 0830, 1130, 1430, and 1715.

The updated timetable includes a final coach from Cambridge to Peterborough that departs two hours later than previously, providing more flexibility for those spending the day in the city. While standard concessionary passes for free travel are not valid on this express route, eligible passengers including those with a valid Tiger pass, children aged 5-15, and concessionary pass holders can travel at a reduced single rate of £6. The standard adult single fare to Cambridge is £8.

Passengers are also advised that roadworks on part of Hills Road in Cambridge may affect some services between 30 March and 18 April 2026. The X1 remains a distinct service from the Tiger 1 route, which operates between Cambridge and Huntingdon via the Guided Busway.
