The Peterborough Foodbank will be closed on Monday 4 May 2026 for the early May bank holiday, affecting operations at its warehouse and its distribution centre located at the Holy Spirit Church in Bretton.

Residents who rely on the service are encouraged to plan ahead and collect their emergency supplies before the holiday weekend begins. The local organisation, which is part of the Trussell Trust network, requires clients to present a valid voucher from a referral agency to receive a three-day emergency food parcel.

The Peterborough Foodbank operates across the city with several locations, including centres at the Salvation Army, Dogsthorpe Methodist Church, and KingsGate Community Church, as well as an evening centre at Hampton. The warehouse in Fengate typically accepts food donations between 10am and 1pm, Monday through Friday, and 10:30am to 12:30pm on Saturdays.

The closure coincides with GOV.UK confirming the date as a statutory public holiday across the United Kingdom. Nationally, the Trussell Trust network continues to see high demand, having distributed more than 2.6 million emergency food parcels across the UK in 2025, with families with children receiving nearly two-thirds of that total.
