Residents in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, are being reminded to activate their February supermarket vouchers before they expire at 9:00pm on March 15, 2026. Peterborough City Council sent the vouchers to eligible families on February 14, 2026, to help with the cost of food during the school half-term break.

Each eligible child was allocated a £10 voucher which was delivered to parents and carers through a text message or email. To claim the funds, residents must click the link in their notification and select which supermarket they want to use before the deadline passes.

Any vouchers that are not activated by the mid-March cutoff will become invalid and the council will not be able to replace or reissue them. This voucher programme is part of the Household Support Fund, a government initiative that is currently set to provide financial assistance until March 31, 2026.

Children who became eligible for the support up to and including February 22, 2026, can also receive the vouchers if a proper application was made. According to Councillor Katy Cole, the Cabinet Member for Children’s Services at the council, anyone who has not received their link should check their contact details with the local authority.

The programme helps families whose children are eligible for income-based free school meals or certain types of funded childcare. The council provides this assistance to reduce the financial pressure on local households during periods when schools are closed and grocery costs typically rise.
