The Met Office predicts a drier and more settled start to March for residents in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. From Tuesday 3 March to Thursday 12 March 2026, high pressure is expected to bring variable cloud and periods of sunshine to the area.

This news follows a very wet winter where the Environment Agency kept flood warnings in place across many parts of England. March usually brings around 44mm of rain to the city over 16 days, so the upcoming dry spell will provide a much-needed break for anyone planning outdoor work or travel.

Despite the drier forecast, officials warn that river levels remain sensitive in low-lying spots. People living near North Bank Road and the River Nene catchment, including Sutton, Water Newton, and Thorpe Meadows, are advised to keep checking for local updates.

The settled conditions are expected to be temporary, with wind and rain likely to return by 13 March 2026. Experts say that Atlantic weather systems are forecast to move back across the country by the middle of the month, bringing more changeable conditions to the region.
