Residents in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, will see a shift to warmer weather as temperatures are forecast to climb to 15°C by February 25, 2026. This update from the Met Office follows a cold start to the week that brought sleet and rain to the city.

While the warmer air will reduce the risk of ice and frost, the city is expected to face windy conditions over the coming days. Wind gusts of up to 31mph are predicted to last from February 20, 2026, through to the end of the weekend.

A band of heavy rain is likely to arrive on February 23, 2026, which could cause problems on local roads and raise water levels. The Environment Agency has issued warnings for the River Nene, noting that North Bank Road is particularly at risk of flooding.

High water levels can also lead to path closures in local parks and may affect travel throughout the city. Official organisations suggest that people check for flood updates as the weather moves from winter cold to wet and windy conditions.
