Peterborough Positive is bringing the Peterborough Weekender back to Cathedral Square from Friday 19 to Sunday 21 June, with live music, big-screen Glastonbury moments, comedy, art and a city centre market all set to fill the heart of Peterborough.
The announcement was published on 20 May 2026 by the city’s Business Improvement District, which says the event is designed to bring festival vibes back to the high street while helping local businesses, venues and the night-time economy. It will also give families a free day out in the city centre.
Across the three days, the programme will include a live art jam by Angry Pencil on the Cathedral Lawn, a free music-themed film club in Wildwood’s cinema room, and free comedy performances at The Bull Hotel, Bijou and Chaat and Chill. The city centre market will feature crafts, cakes, bakes, food and drink.
The Weekender follows the success of Peterborough Positive’s Glastonbury Weekender, which won silver in the Best Event category at the National BID Awards in February 2026. The group says it represents more than 350 businesses and organisations in Peterborough and was set up to help transform the city centre.
Peterborough Positive also said it will revive the Bull and Dolphin Shuffle over the weekend, describing it as a way of keeping local traditions alive while people gather in Cathedral Square.
