People visiting New Theatre Peterborough (46 Broadway, Peterborough, PE1 1RS) can get cheaper taxi rides to and from shows throughout 2026 after the venue launched a partnership in January 2026 with Peterborough Cars Ltd.
Theatre-goers will be offered a special discounted ‘theatre rate’ when they book their journey through the Peterborough Cars mobile app using a valid show-ticket code. The discount applies to journeys starting or ending within the Greater Peterborough area; the scheme is estimated to offer around 15–20% off standard fares, although the exact rate may vary between peak and off-peak performances.
Patrons will receive a unique digital voucher by email 48 hours before their performance. The code is entered into the Peterborough Cars app to unlock the reduced fare. Paul Jepson, CEO & Creative Director of Landmark Theatres, said: “Our goal is to remove every possible hurdle between our community and the world-class stories on our stage. By partnering with Peterborough Cars, we’re ensuring that the ‘theatre experience’ starts at the front door of your home, not just the front door of the auditorium.”
The scheme sits alongside the theatre’s work as a National Portfolio Organisation funded by Arts Council England and supports its aim to make local arts and culture more accessible. Sunny Singh Sohi, a director at Peterborough Cars (commonly known as Sunny Sohi), said: “We’ve served this city for years, and we know that parking in the centre on a Friday night can be a headache. This partnership makes it cheaper to take a taxi than to park a car, while supporting two local businesses in one go.”
The discount will be available for every scheduled performance at New Theatre Peterborough through 31 December 2026. It is believed to be the first time in Cambridgeshire that a private-hire booking app has integrated a dedicated ‘theatre rate.’
