Residents in Peterborough should prepare for a significant change in the weather this weekend, as a period of warmth gives way to cloudier skies and rain. While Friday 1 May will be sunny with temperatures reaching 25°C, those planning outdoor activities over the coming days will need to account for cooler and wetter conditions.

According to the Met Office, Saturday will start sunny with temperatures around 21°C. However, cloud cover is expected to increase throughout the afternoon, and the likelihood of rain will rise to 60% by 11pm. The weather will continue to shift on Sunday 3 May, bringing light rain and a drop in temperatures to 16°C.

The early hours of Sunday will be particularly wet, with an 80% chance of rain between 1am and 4am, and a 60% chance by 6am. Humidity will climb as the weekend progresses, reaching as high as 96% on Sunday morning. The regional Met Office forecast also indicates that conditions throughout the weekend may be unsettled, with an increased chance of showers that could potentially be thundery.

While the incoming rain may disrupt outdoor plans, it will lead to a drop in pollen levels, which are currently high but expected to fall to low by Sunday. Those heading out this weekend are encouraged to check the latest updates and consider indoor alternatives, especially for Sunday morning.
