Dorset Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Hamworthy, Poole, that left a man in his 50s with serious injuries. The incident, which involved a green Nissan Micra and an electric bike, occurred on Blandford Road near the railway bridge at approximately 5:37pm on Monday, 20 April 2026.

The rider of the electric bike was taken to hospital by the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust for treatment. To allow emergency services to manage the scene and conduct a forensic examination, Blandford Road was blocked in both directions following the collision.

Police Sergeant Dan Yates of the Dorset Police Roads Policing Team is leading the investigation. He is urging anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone driving in the area who may have captured relevant footage on a dashcam to come forward.

Members of the public can share information by contacting the police online, emailing [email protected], or calling 101. When providing information, please quote incident reference number 20:428.
