Bournemouth & Poole College in Poole, Dorset, will host a series of hands-on taster sessions from March 16 to March 19, 2026, to help local students choose their future career paths. These evening events give school leavers and their parents the chance to test out different vocational courses and apprenticeships before applying for the next academic year.

The sessions run each day from 4:15 pm to 5:30 pm at the Poole campus on North Road. Prospective students can try a variety of practical subjects, including bricklaying and high-tech digital skills using professional tools like the Unreal Engine.

Visitors will be able to use the recently modernised facilities at the site, which underwent a multi-million-pound redevelopment project. The Mayor of Poole, Councillor Mark Howell, visited the campus on February 2, 2026, to see how these new learning spaces will help prepare students for the local workforce. While the college’s landmark Compass Building is located at the Bournemouth campus, the Poole site now features upgraded specialist suites for healthcare, engineering, and digital media.

Principal Phil Sayles has led the effort to upgrade the college facilities to meet current industry standards. This taster week follows the successful ‘Apprenticeships Unlocked 2026’ event held on February 11, 2026, which saw high demand from families looking into local training opportunities.
