The annual Poole Week sailing festival is returning to Dorset this summer, with organisers releasing details for a programme featuring racing, coaching, and social events from 23 August to 28 August 2026. Held in Poole Harbour and hosted primarily by the Parkstone Yacht Club, the event will see sailors compete across six afternoons of racing.
This year, participants will have access to a top coach who will be present in the dinghy park and on the water. The coach will offer pre- and post-race observations and tips to help competitors refine their performance throughout the week.
The event is held in association with Haven Knox-Johnston, a marine insurance provider. Social activities are also a central part of the week, with Hall and Woodhouse sponsoring a day of racing and providing subsidised beer at the bar throughout the festival. Full entrants are entitled to a free drink voucher each day, as well as free supper vouchers for the opening and closing nights, with additional class dinners taking place in the clubhouse.
Last year, the festival brought together 365 sailors in 197 boats from 26 clubs. Competitors will face a variety of racing formats, including windward/leeward and round-the-harbour courses, with plans for some fleets to venture out into Poole Bay.
The festival has a long history in the community, having celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2023. It continues to be a notable draw for visitors to the area.
