A moped was stolen from outside the Junction Sports and Leisure Centre in Broadstone and driven dangerously around two Poole roundabouts before a teenage boy was arrested on Friday 29 May 2026.

The black Lexmoto moped was taken between 6pm and 8.30pm. Later that evening, it was reportedly driven dangerously near the Stinsford Road Roundabout and Derbys Corner Roundabout. At around 9pm, an off-duty officer spotted the moped and, with help from a member of the public, detained the rider in Lower Blandford Road.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and driving offences. He has since been released on bail while police enquiries continue. Police Constable Harrison Downer, of Poole police, said the investigation is ongoing and appealed directly for witnesses to come forward. “I would urge any witnesses or anyone who may have captured any relevant dashcam footage to please make contact with us,” he said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police online or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55260079103. Anonymous reports can be made to Crimestoppers.
