Portsmouth Cathedral in Old Portsmouth has resumed its weekly #PompeyTots sessions for the 2026 term, beginning in early February 2026.

#PompeyTots runs on Wednesdays at 2:00pm during school term time. Each session starts in the St Thomas Chapel with a short, interactive service aimed at babies and pre‑schoolers, featuring a Bible story, singing with instruments and creative prayer. Attendees then move to Becket Hall for playtime and refreshments, with time for carers to socialise.

The Portsmouth Cathedral Ministry Team, supported by local volunteers and led locally by the group’s co‑ordinator (listed on the Cathedral website as “Harriet”), organises and runs the sessions to help parents and carers connect in the Old Portsmouth community. The programme aligns with the Diocese of Portsmouth’s Vision and Strategy to prioritise children and families and to grow youth discipleship across the diocese.

Portsmouth City Council lists #PompeyTots among local low‑cost family activities, underlining the sessions’ role as an accessible community resource. The Cathedral’s Chapter has also invested in Becket Hall’s facilities to support community use: in October 2022 the hall had electrical and kitchen works (a new Phase 3 power supply to enable installation of a new oven) funded in part by Portsmouth City Council, improvements intended to help the hall continue serving as a hub for local events.
