Portsmouth City Council in Hampshire is inviting residents to share their thoughts on new bus lanes, walking paths and cycling routes introduced across the city between 2024 and early 2026. People have until 15 February 2026 to give feedback on how these changes have affected their daily journeys and travel times.

According to Portsmouth City Council, the review covers several major areas including Northern Parade, Lake Road and Eastern Road. These projects have been delivered and managed through Travel Portsmouth as part of the Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) and Transforming Cities Fund (TCF) programmes, intended to make bus trips more reliable and provide safer spaces for people to walk and cycle.

The city says these changes form part of a wider plan to reduce air pollution and help the area reach its carbon‑neutral target by 2030. As reported by The News (6 October 2025) on the council’s draft ten‑year Public Transport Strategy, the council says it will use consultation feedback to shape the strategy; the SEHRT evaluation survey (closing 15 February 2026) is one of the inputs the council has said will help finalise the 2026–2036 Public Transport Strategy.

While the goal is to make travel easier, some local business owners have raised concerns about the loss of parking spaces and traffic displacement onto side streets. Residents can share their experiences via the council’s ‘Your City Your Say’ portal or at drop‑in sessions at community hubs such as Hilsea Lido and the Central Library. Hampshire County Council is a joint partner on TCF-funded projects in the area and has supported delivery of some schemes.
