Rail lines between Fareham, Havant, and Portsmouth in Hampshire will close for six days from Saturday 28 March to Thursday 2 April 2026. This complete closure is necessary for Network Rail to carry out essential engineering work to strengthen the local railway infrastructure. During the closure, South Western Railway will provide replacement bus services to help people travel between Portsmouth Harbour, Havant, and Fareham. Passengers are being told to expect their journeys to take significantly longer than usual. The train operator is asking everyone to check their travel times before they start their journey.
