Residents in Reading can access a wide range of free health resources and wellness activities at a special event held at the Rivermead Leisure Centre on 17 June 2026. Taking place from 10am to 3pm, the day is designed to connect the local community with various organisations and services dedicated to supporting healthier lifestyles.

This event marks the first time the centre has hosted a dedicated health and wellbeing day. The session will bring together experts from several groups, including Together for Mental Wellbeing and Solutions4Health, to provide information and guidance to attendees.

Representatives from the Healthwise programme will also be on hand to discuss how the scheme supports individuals with medical conditions. The service helps residents manage health concerns such as high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, and depression by providing access to supervised physical activities through referrals from GPs and other healthcare professionals.

Organisers expect more local groups to join the event as the date approaches. All residents are invited to attend the centre on Richfield Avenue to explore the services available to help them live healthier, happier lives.
