Reading Borough Council is looking for brass bands and musical performers to take part in the town’s Armed Forces Day celebrations in Reading, Berkshire, on Sunday, 28 June 2026. The event will run from 11am to 4pm across Broad Street and Forbury Gardens to honour serving personnel, veterans, and their families.

The day will feature concerts in Forbury Gardens alongside performances by the Reading Scottish Pipe Band and an Army Band. Visitors can also expect charity stalls, activities for children, and the presentation of official badges to local veterans.

While the national Armed Forces Day takes place on Saturday, 27 June 2026, Reading is holding its community event on the following Sunday. Previous years have seen performances from the Reading Spring Gardens Brass Band, which is the oldest musical institution in the town.

Groups interested in performing during the celebrations can contact the council events team by emailing [email protected] or calling 0118 937 3787. This year’s national host for the main celebration is Rushmoor Borough Council in nearby Aldershot and Farnborough.
