Residents in Reading, Berkshire, can attend a special outdoor cinema night at Basildon Park on 5 September 2026. The National Trust is teaming up with Secret Adventures to host an evening of award-winning documentaries in the estate grounds.

The event runs from 19:00 to 22:30 and features short adventure documentaries that have won over 20 awards. Rather than using traditional speakers, guests will watch the films using wireless headphones in a silent cinema format to keep the woodland area quiet.

Visitors will take a 10-minute walk along a woodland track from the car park to reach the screening clearing. Once there, the evening includes a campfire with marshmallows, a pop-up bar, and wood-fired pizzas that can be ordered in advance.

Basildon Park is a popular filming location and was recently used for the fourth series of the Netflix drama Bridgerton. While the grounds usually close to the public at 17:00, this evening event offers a different way to experience the historic site.
