Residents in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, will gather for a free 5‑kilometre community run at the Aquadrome on Saturday, 7 February 2026. The event, known as Rickmansworth parkrun, is organised by local volunteers and is open to people of all ages and fitness levels.
The timed event begins at 09:00 AM GMT and follows a two‑lap, flat course on the tarmac and gravel paths around Bury and Batchworth Lakes. Participants can run, jog or walk the distance; many use the weekly meet‑up to stay active and socialise with neighbours.
While taking part is free, participants should register once online to receive a permanent scannable barcode — parkrun operates a ‘No barcode, No result’ policy. After the event, many participants meet for a drink or a snack at the Café in the Park, which sits near the start/finish area.
With recent wet weather and local flood alerts in the area, the Rickmansworth parkrun News Team warns the course can accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain; they check course conditions first thing in the morning and post an update by 08:00 AM on event days. Before travelling, runners should check the Rickmansworth parkrun official page, the event’s social channels or the Parkrun Cancellations list for any last‑minute course changes or cancellations.
Three Rivers District Council is delivering the Rickmansworth Aquadrome Project (part of the ‘Water, Wildlife and Wellbeing’ restoration programme), a multi‑year scheme supported by National Lottery Heritage Fund money that includes plans to improve paths and make routes more resilient to seasonal flooding.
