The Batchworth Community Council (BCC) is hosting a special Valentine’s‑themed indoor market this Sunday, 8 February 2026, at St Mary’s Church Centre (main hall) in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire. The event will run from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm, providing a local option for residents to buy gifts and support small businesses ahead of the holiday.
The market is part of a wider effort to support independent traders and increase the number of people visiting the town centre. By moving the traditionally outdoor market indoors for this seasonal special, organisers are ensuring a weather‑proof environment for traders and shoppers regardless of the winter weather.
Visitors can expect a variety of stalls featuring artisan crafts, handmade clothing and local food. The Rickmansworth Town Team (a Community Interest Company) is working with the council to help manage the event; organisers say the number of stalls has doubled since the market was revitalised in April 2022 (around four years ago), reflecting growing appetite for local trade.
Organisers say the goal of these community markets is to help the local economy while safeguarding the town’s heritage and wider environment. This weekend’s event focuses on giving people a convenient place to find unique Valentine’s gifts while supporting small businesses based in the local area.
