The Marks & Spencer Simply Food store in Rickmansworth is set to reopen its doors on 9 April 2026 following a 10-week closure for extensive upgrades.
Located at 193 High Street, the shop has been closed to customers since 24 January 2026 to allow for a comprehensive refurbishment. The project, which received approval from Three Rivers District Council on 3 February 2026, aims to modernise the site as part of a wider investment programme by the retailer.
Shoppers visiting the refreshed store will notice several changes to the exterior and car park. The upgrades include replacing the trolley shelter, lampposts, and gate, while the car park itself has been relined. Additionally, new bollards have been installed and the landscaping has been updated with bark mulch. The building’s frontage and signage have also been modernised to align with the company’s latest branding. Note that the layout changes will result in the removal of three parking spaces from the site.
The Rickmansworth location is one of six stores being renewed by the company this year. This work is part of a national strategy led by Marks & Spencer to rotate and improve its estate, with the retailer investing over £300 million during the 2025-26 period to support the growth of its food business.
Regarding the return of the store, the company stated: “We’re excited to be reopening our refreshed Rickmansworth store on 9 April 2026. We can’t wait to welcome you back.”
