Residents in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, can see new designs for improvements at the local park during an in-person event on March 7, 2026. This session will allow people to look at early plans for the site and speak with the team behind the project.

Three Rivers District Council and contractor RSK Group will host the event outside the park cafe from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM. The project is funded by a £736,515 development grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to help protect the nature reserve while making it better for visitors.

The proposed plans include a new Visitor Hub and a quiet spot called Bury Point, along with a Natural Play and Discovery Zone for children. A new Arts Trail is also planned for the Woodland Walk, featuring sculptures and QR codes that visitors can scan to hear local stories.

To deal with regular flooding, the council wants to build raised wooden walkways in the Pinetum and Woodland Walk areas to keep paths open all year. Other work includes repairing the banks of the River Colne and making the car park easier to use with a new one-way system.

People who cannot make it to the park on the day can view the plans and leave comments through an online survey on the Three Rivers District Council website. This feedback will be used to help finalise the designs for the park.
