Three Rivers District Council has invited residents in Rickmansworth and the surrounding Hertfordshire area to attend public meetings on 23 March and 24 March 2026 to discuss local policing changes. The sessions follow a decision to move neighbourhood officers to a central base in Rickmansworth instead of maintaining separate stations in other local villages.

Council Leader Cllr Stephen Giles-Medhurst OBE will chair the meetings alongside Chief Inspector Dan Rainbird from Hertfordshire Constabulary. The first meeting takes place on Monday 23 March 2026 at the Watford Rural Parish Council Offices in South Oxhey, with the second session held on Wednesday 24 March 2026 at The Manor House in Abbots Langley.

The plan to centralise officers has caused concern among some local residents who worry that police will be less visible on the streets. A petition has been launched by residents who want their local officers to remain based in their own community to ensure quick response times and a steady presence.

Chief Inspector Rainbird stated that moving the team to a hub in Rickmansworth will help with better briefings and will not reduce the number of officers out on patrol. The police confirmed they will continue to focus on local priorities such as tackling anti-social behaviour, speeding, and shoplifting across the district.
