The Rickmansworth Town Ward Neighbourhood Policing Team has made online fraud and scams a priority following feedback from residents in a local survey. This shift in focus highlights the growing concern over digital crime within the community.

According to Hertfordshire Constabulary, residents and businesses across the county reported 6,757 cases of fraud and 1,664 reports of cybercrime in 2025. These incidents resulted in combined financial losses of £44 million.

To help residents stay safe, officers from the police force’s cyber and fraud team will hold an advice session at Watford Central Library on 3 June 2026. The team will be available from 10am until 3pm to provide guidance and tips on how to avoid becoming a victim of digital crime.

The local policing team is also hosting a Play Rangers “Meet the Team” session for the community on 8 June 2026. This event will take place at Scotsbridge Play Area at 4pm.
