Residents and travellers in Watford, Hertfordshire, will need to use different bus stops at night while a section of Rickmansworth Road is closed for maintenance. The road will be shut every night between 8:00 pm and 5:00 am starting from March 2, 2026, until March 12, 2026.
The work involves resurfacing the road and is expected to cover the area from the Ascot Road roundabout to the Cassio Road junction. These repairs are being carried out overnight to reduce the impact on traffic during the busiest parts of the day.
According to the Hertfordshire Passenger Transport Unit, the 724 bus service will not be able to stop at the Rickmansworth Road/Shepherds Road stop during the closure. This service is a key route that connects Harlow, St Albans, Watford, and Heathrow Airport throughout the night.
Passengers who usually use the Shepherds Road stop are advised to go to Croxley Green Two Bridges, Watford Town Hall (Stop X), or Watford Clarendon Road (Stop S) instead. People travelling late at night should leave extra time for their journeys or check for the latest updates on the Intalink website.
