Students and staff at Rickmansworth School in Hertfordshire will take part in a campus-wide “Wear Pink Day” on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, to raise funds for the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.

The school, which describes its pupil roll as around 1,400, invites students to add pink items to their uniform and to donate at the school gate or via the ParentPay system. The activity is being led by Springwell House, which the school lists as its house charity supporting the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre. The school’s Headteacher, Mr Matthew Fletcher, and the school’s prospectus emphasise building strong community partnerships through charitable activities.

Funds raised will support extra equipment, facilities and patient-comfort services for people treated at Mount Vernon that are delivered through the East and North Hertfordshire Hospitals’ Charity and are not usually covered by standard NHS budgets.

The fundraiser coincides with an NHS public consultation (19 January–29 March 2026) inviting views on proposals to relocate specialist Mount Vernon services to a new purpose-built facility next to Watford General Hospital. Mount Vernon serves a catchment of roughly two million people and is also undergoing an interim building-improvement programme at its Northwood site—an ongoing programme of around A310 million—while longer-term proposals are considered.

By holding the Wear Pink Day, Rickmansworth School is offering a visible show of community support for the centre and its staff during this period of change.
