Residents in Rickmansworth can expect a brief taste of summer this week as temperatures are set to reach 26°C on Wednesday, 8 April 2026, before a shift to cooler and wetter weather arrives by the weekend.

The Met Office reports that this unseasonable warmth is caused by high pressure drawing warm air northwards from continental Europe. Chief Meteorologist Paul Gundersen noted that this could be the warmest spell at this point in April since 2020. These temperatures are significantly higher than the typical April daily highs, which usually sit around 12°C to 15°C.

While the weather will be fine and sunny for the next couple of days, those with allergies should be aware that the Met Office has forecast very high pollen levels across England for the coming days. There are currently no weather warnings in force for Rickmansworth.

The warm spell will be short-lived, with a marked drop in temperature of around 10°C expected between Wednesday and Thursday. Unsettled conditions will take over from Friday through to Sunday, 12 April 2026, bringing bands of rain and showers, with temperatures returning to near-average levels for the time of year.
