West Herts College opened online bookings on 3 February 2026 for its Spring Open Day series, giving people in Rickmansworth and southwest Hertfordshire a chance to look around the campuses and plan for courses starting in September 2026. The events are aimed at school leavers (age 16+) and adults considering new training or study routes.

Visitors can meet tutors and view training workshops at the Hemel Hempstead campus on Saturday 28 February 2026, 9:30am–12:30pm. A second event will take place at the Watford campus on Saturday 7 March 2026, 9:30am–1:00pm, showcasing practical subjects and career pathways for local residents.

The college — which received an overall ‘Good’ rating following a full Ofsted inspection on 23 April 2024 — offers practical qualifications including apprenticeships and T-Levels (technical qualifications equivalent to three A-Levels). Prospective students can also learn about degree-level courses validated through a partnership with the University of Hertfordshire.

Anyone interested in attending must reserve a specific time slot via the West Herts College website to manage campus capacity and ensure tutor availability. Note: the college’s booking system launched on 3 February 2026 and the college has flagged a brief period of scheduled website maintenance this evening (around 6:00pm) which may temporarily affect bookings; if you experience issues try earlier in the day or after 7:00pm.

While West Herts College’s main campuses are in Watford and Hemel Hempstead — both close to Rickmansworth — the college also works with local schools such as Rickmansworth School to help Year 11 and sixth-form students explore vocational and higher-education options.

Residents are encouraged to book soon to get professional course and careers advice and to see the equipment and classrooms first-hand before applying for the September 2026 intake.
