The Myton Hospices has opened registration for a limited number of free entry places in the upcoming Leamington Half Marathon, taking place on Sunday 7 June 2026. Runners interested in participating can secure their spot in the race by pledging to raise at least £100 for the charity, which provides palliative care services across Coventry and Warwickshire.

The race, which is returning for its 8th year, will start and finish at the Pump Room Gardens in Royal Leamington Spa. Organised by Raceways Events CIC, the event has sold out for seven consecutive years and remains a popular fixture for local athletes and fundraisers alike.

This partnership comes as the hospice faces significant financial pressure, with monthly operating costs exceeding £1 million. Currently, National Health Service funding accounts for only 17% of the charity’s required expenses, leaving them to raise over £12.7 million annually to maintain their services in Coventry, Rugby, and Warwick. In December 2025, the organisation launched an emergency appeal following an 11% increase in demand for inpatient beds.

Community support has historically provided a vital lifeline for the organisation. During the 2024 race, 126 participants raised £42,488 to support the hospice’s work. Those wishing to join the team for this year’s Leamington Half Marathon can find more information and register their interest through the official Myton Hospices website. Local arrangements for the event, including road closures, are managed by Warwick District Council.
