Families in Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, can now take part in the local lantern parade for less money after organisers lowered the cost of craft packs. As of 1 March 2026, BID Leamington has reduced the suggested donation for its lantern-making kits from three pounds down to two pounds.

The kits include all the supplies needed to build a traditional lantern, such as willow sticks known as withy, a bamboo carrying pole, and special white tissue paper that stays strong when wet. Residents can pick up these packs from the BID Leamington office at 35C Park Court between 10am and 3pm from Monday to Thursday. Organisers usually only accept cash payments for these materials.

This price drop is intended to make the Leamington Lantern Parade more affordable for everyone in the community. It also helps parents and children who are unable to attend the free workshops held later in the year to build their creations at home. The 2025 parade was held on 7 December 2025 at the Royal Pump Room Gardens, and these kits help ensure the tradition continues to grow.
